Short description

Veridis develops the first batch-representative and easy-to-use thermal analysis method called MADSCAN.

With MADSCAN, you get accurate insights into your stream's polymer composition including polymer subtypes and fraction size.

In 2024 and 2025, Veridis MADSCAN will become available for pilots on location.

Detailed information

Veridis was founded by three young physicists in Amsterdam in 2020 to develop reliable (and standardisable) analysis methods for large volumes of plastic 'waste' streams.

Conventional analysis methods such as NIR or DSC can give useful material insights but are not built for large volumes of heterogeneous and continuously changing plastics or cannot accurately distinguish between different subtypes or fractions in a material sample.

MADSCAN addresses both of these challenges via Veridis' EASE-principle

MADSCAN is:

Easy-to-use
The MADSCAN system(s) require minimal sample prep and are designed to be used next-to-the-line at customer plants. The data analysis is automated via algorithms developed by the Veridis team. MADSCAN systems require little hands-on experience or input. Load a sample, hit the button, receive the results

Accurate
MADSCAN can detect polymer fractions as small as <1% within a sample and measure the size of each fraction with >99% accuracy. MADSCAN measures any plastic type, including multi-layered and dark plastics.

Scalable
MADSCAN systems measure at a scale 10.000 times larger than conventional (thermal) analysis methods, measuring up to 2000 flakes/granules per scan at once.

Efficient
MADSCAN enables fast insights with a measurement time between 1-2 hours per large sample (MADSCAN T-50). With continuous insight, we allow our customers to assess incoming and outgoing product quality. Optimise your processes and get the optimal price for your product with Veridis MADSCAN.

2024 and 2025 available products and services:

MADSCAN T-30 Polyolefine material analysis (PP, HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, and others) with measurement accuracy at ~8% for flakes and ~12% for compounds.

MADSCAN T-50 (Q4 2024+) pilot on location for PO, PET, PA and other polymer types.
